The Fifth Step

Synopsis

Following his mother’s death, Francisco Edwards returns to his childhood home in Portugal discovering the house is for sale.
However, it is now a community center and local singer, Isabel Costa, is holding a concert to raise money for the people to buy it themselves. Francisco offers the owner €20,000 above whatever they raise.
Reluctantly, he realizes that Isabel is his childhood friend but still enjoys himself when she invites him to a community party.
During the concert, Francisco returns to the empty house. His memories resurface and he begins to appreciate that without the people, it looses all the life and spirit he loved.
